Cost

The registration cost is 205€/person in 2025. This covers accommodation for three nights and all meals from dinner on Friday June 6 to lunch on Monday June 9.

Can you contribute more? You will be offered the option to contribute an extra 30€ or 60€ in order to help someone who needs a discount. If you can, please contribute! Bear in mind that your donation will be passed on to another participant, and if in the end you decide not to come, you will not recover the amount of your extra contribution (see below in Notes).

Do you need a discount? If money is an obstacle to your participation, you will be given the option to request a 30€ or a 60€ discount. The availability of this discount will depend on the contributions of participants who registered before you. Once you pre-register (see below), we will let you know if a discount is available at the moment, in which case you will be invited to pay and register. Otherwise, we will let you know where you are on the waiting list.

Registration process

  1. Pre-registration: you will fill a Cryptpad form with information about you and your preferences, including the options to contribute more or to request a discount.
  2. Within 72h, we will send you an email indicating whether or not we can offer you a place. If yes, we will give you instructions for payment; if not, we will offer to put you on the waiting list.
  3. If offered a place, you must pay within 72h.
  4. Once we have received your payment, we will send you another email confirming your registration. Only at this point is your place guaranteed.

Notes

  • Please register only if you feel confident that you will be attending for the whole weekend, by arriving on Friday and leaving on Monday. Indeed, spending a full weekend with the same group of people creates a lovely sense of cohesion, and this is disturbed by having people arriving late or leaving early. Furthermore, with places being so limited, we want to make sure they are fully used.
  • You can reserve a maximum of two places per registration. If travelling in a larger group who would like to share a room, just make several pre-registrations, explaining in the forms that you want to be together.
  • To avoid messages from us getting lost in your spam folder, add openconcat@gmail.com to your trusted emails, or check your spam folder regularly.
  • If you change your mind or cannot make it, we cannot reimburse you, but will do our best to put you in contact with people in the waiting list to whom you can sell your reservation (we cannot guarantee there will be people in the waiting list, particularly if you change your mind at the last minute). Note that if you have made an additional 30/60€ contribution, you won’t get that money back, because it will in the meantime have been used to offer a discounted reservation to someone else (that is: you will be selling your ticked for 205€).
  • If the meeting needs to be cancelled for reasons beyond our control (e.g. a natural or human-made disaster) we will reimburse you as much as we can (see more information here).
  • We’ll need to ask you for some personal data (ID, date of birth, nationality) because under Spanish law the house owners must collect this information for all guests and transmit it to the Government. We (OpenCon organisers) will use your personal data solely for the organisation of IOCC2025 and will not share it with anyone else outside the organisation, ever.
